Foreword<\/span><\/strong>
Wine is a replica of the Windows API that makes a variety of Windows games or programs run on macOS. Wherever this works, it is the more direct route over a virtualization solution.
Wer auf bestimmte Windows-Spiele oder Programme nicht verzichten kann, der hat drei M\u00f6glichkeiten \u2013 Windows via Dualboot nutzen, Windows in einer virtuellen Maschine unter macOS installieren oder die gew\u00fcnschte Software per Wine starten. Allerdings kann der Weg \u00fcber Wine etwas steinig und „tricky“ sein. Nicht jedes Programm bzw. Spiel ist damit lauff\u00e4hig und man kommt um eine Windows-Vollinstallation nicht herum.<\/p>

But now let's get to the real point<\/strong><\/span>
Who (of us older people) doesn't like to think back to the good old computer times of classic games and would like to play them again today because we spent hours or even days playing them. As already described above there are several ways to do this.\u00a0 In my Wine section I would like to offer the possibility to easily get these games running again under macOS.<\/p>

Dazu pr\u00e4feriere ich, sofern es denn mit dem entsprechenden Spiel auch funktioniert, den sog. „Wine Wrapper“. Dieser Wrapper ist augenscheinlich nichts anderes als eine normale Mac Applikation. Man muss sie wie jedes andere Mac Programm einfach nur starten und kann direkt mit dem Spielen beginnen. S\u00e4mtliche ben\u00f6tigte Windowssystem-Dateien sind in der App enthalten ohne das es einer echten Windowsinstallation bedarf.<\/p>

I would like to provide here now the one or other wrapper to classics. It is important to mention here that it is only the naked wrapper. That means the actual files of the game are not included for copyright reasons. You must have the original game files to install them. Apart from that, the WWW also offers many possibilities for a game (of course<\/strong><\/em><\/span> completely legal) to get hold of.<\/p>

What do you have to do if you have downloaded one of my wrappers and the CD(s)\/disk image(s)\/GOG installer is now in front of you?<\/p>

1) Als erstes startet Ihr die „Game Config“ Applikation die dem Ordner des Wrappers beiliegt<\/strong>
2) Ihr klickt auf den roten Button „Spiel installieren“<\/strong>
3) Select the installation exe file<\/b><\/p>

After that everything looks exactly like you know it from Windows. Just follow the steps of the installation. It is very important that you use the default installation path of the game. .<\/strong><\/span> otherwise it will not work in the end. The path is fixed in the wrapper. You just have to confirm all requests.<\/p>

With the GOG game installers it can happen that they throw an error at the very end. You can simply ignore this and confirm. This does not affect the function.<\/p>

Generell ist es auch wichtig das Ihr am Ende nicht das Spiel direkt startet, wie es meist vom Installer vorgeschlagen wird, sondern erstmal das Ganze beenden sodass Ihr wieder zu „Wineskin“ zur\u00fcck gelangt. Solltet Ihr f\u00fcr das Spiel noch weitere Installationen machen m\u00fcssen, z.B. die 2. CD mit der Setup Exe einlegen oder irgendwelche Patches (sei es technische oder sprachliche) einspielen, so wiederholt einfach die Vorgehensweise wie unter Punkt 4) beschrieben ist. Wenn alles erledigt ist k\u00f6nnt ihr Wineskin und dann meine Game Config Applikation schlie\u00dfen und letztere erneut starten. Der rote Button ist dann nicht mehr zu sehen und Ihr k\u00f6nnt ggf. Einstellungen vornehmen und das Spiel dann starten.<\/p>

Many of the older games require that you leave the installation CD in the drive so that the game will start. This was a common copy protection back then. Fortunately, it is usually sufficient to create a disk image from your original and then simply mount it. By the way, you can install games from disk images in general, so you don't need any physical media. The original can stay on your shelf.<\/p>

The whole CD check falls under the table with GOG games anyway, because they exclusively deliver their games in only one exe file which is free of DRM.<\/p>

And now I wish you a lot of fun with my Wine Wrappers, which will hopefully become even more extensive over time.
